Chief Administrative Officer

The Chief Administrative Officer reports to the Executive Director, particularly on financial and corporate issues, and works closely with the Director of Research Administration.

  • Oversee accounts payable: Quickbooks and credit cards
  • 1099-misc forms for consultants/vendors


  • Budgeting for overhead (indirect costs)
  • Indirect cost rate computation
  • Annual organizational budget


  • Cash flow
  • Bank accounts, CDs, and investments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Annual external financial audit
  • 401K audit

Human Resources and Payroll

  • Oversee HR policies
  • Oversee HR issues as they arise
  • Oversee benefits
  • Oversee payroll
  • Oversee payroll tax forms, including 941, SUTA, W2


  • Meeting-related contracts
  • Business contracts

Corporate Matters

  • Corporate policies
  • Corporate standard operating procedures

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) must have a strong accounting background and administrative experience in supervising personnel. Experience in the responsibilities listed above is desired.

Additionally, the CAO should have the following experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting.
  • Experience supervising personnel
  • Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
  • Experience with legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and proposing new ways of creating efficiencies.
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to JCHR's nonprofit mission.

The Jaeb Center for Health Research, Inc. is a Tampa based company that coordinates medical studies and epidemiological research primarily in the areas of type 1 diabetes and eye disorders. Among our current major projects are a registry and biobank for people with type 1 diabetes, a network conducting studies on diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, and a network researching eye disorders in children. Our studies are conducted at locations across the country using proprietary web-based applications and materials developed by our programming and database teams.
